About St. Francis Assisted Care

At some point in our lives we will all face the challenges of taking care of our aging parents. It's not something that I had thought about much until it crept up on me when my mother began showing signs of dementia. It really hit home when my wife caught my mother in the nick of time about to take a sip of bleach that she had just poured into a glass. Unable to provide full time care at home and with no real support from my siblings I was faced with a real dilemma and decided to look into other options.

With no long term care insurance, in-home care turned out to be a really expensive option and beyond our means. The alternative and a tough choice, was to place Mum in a care home but I was not impressed by what I saw. About the same time a friend brought to my attention an investment property in Turlock, the home of UC Stanislaus, about an hours drive from the Bay Area. This was a 28 bed care home that was neglected and in desperate need of repair. We saw this as Divine intervention, a sign from Above. With my background in engineering and construction I knew I could turn it around, my wife encouraged me to move forward with this project. And yes, turn it around we did. Located on one and half acres of spacious manicured grounds with a secured perimeter, we offer a safe, clean and friendly environment for our residents and staff alike. And with selective recruiting we boast the finest care givers who genuinely enjoy assisting and caring for our residents. As prominent members of the local community we like to believe that we have become the destination of choice for family members seeking a safe and comfortable environment for their loved ones. And yes, my Mum is a resident. Come and see us sometime.
